Message from the Chairperson

Nepal Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperative Unions Ltd. (NEFSCUN) is committed to provide financial and non-financial services to its members and envisions for viable, competent and sustainable saving and credit cooperative societies through maximum participation of people within their community since 1988.

We are very proud of contributing 4 Millennium Development Goals out of 8 even from the small country Nepal: eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, promote gender equality and empower women, cooperation for environmental sustainability and develop a global partnership for development through uniting saving and credit cooperative societies (SACCOS) together.

Our major concerns are to overcome the barriers of SACCOS growth, member sustainability and development, reaching out to the poor and linkage & networking as whole.

We have several international partners helping us to achieve our objectives and we are grateful for their assistance. In addition to Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) and Center for International Co-operation & Training in Agricultural Banking (CICTAB), they include: Canadian Co-operative Association (CCA), AGRITERRA, INTERPOLIS, Canadian Center for International Studies & Co-operation (CECI), UNFPA Country Office, Coady International Institute, Irish League of Credit Unions, USC - Nepal, SNV Nepal, UNDP/MEDEP and others.

I express my heartiest thanks to all our members who are contributing NEFSCUN to make it stronger apex body of saving and credit cooperatives in Nepal. And I hope for your valuable and continued support for the days to come.
